PPLEB celebrates five years of aid at Schloss Linnep

To celebrate our fifth anniversary, we invite you to a celebratory event in the historic carriage house of Linnep Castle in Ratingen-Breitscheid.

Since its founding in 2020, PPLEB has already distributed 3,000 solar lamp systems to families in need in Lebanon through its “Lights in the Dark” project – improving the lives of around 15,000 people. Thanks to renewable energy solutions, households without electricity have been provided with light and mobile phone charging facilities.

The anniversary celebration on October 30th at 7:00 p.m. will honor these successes, look back at current and future projects, and thank partners, sponsors, and supporters. A program lasting approximately one hour is planned, including the following highlights:

  • Welcome address by the Chairman of the Board
  • Musical contributions by opera singer Ekaterina Somicheva with piano accompaniment
  • Introduction by photographer Britta Radike, whose documentation of the projects was honored with the International Color Award 2025, including an exhibition of selected portraits
  • Review of PPLEB’s previous milestones, including recognition with a BMW Group Award for Social Engagement in 2022 and funding from the W.P. Schmitz Stiftung in 2025

Following the event, PPLEB invites you to a get-together with Lebanese finger food catering. Around 70 guests from civil society, politics, culture, and business are expected. Registration is required at ppleb.org/5years.
