The next 1,000 solar lighting systems are on their way to Lebanon, currently crossing the sea from China towards their destination.
This shipment has been made possible by the support of the Deutsche Postcode Lotterie and many other donors. We are deeply grateful for this support.
Once these 1,000 systems arrive in Lebanon in October and are distributed, our projects will have reached more than 5,250 families.
More than 5,250 families receiving something that may sound simple to us: reliable light.
But where electricity is unavailable for many hours or sometimes not available at all, light changes everyday life. It allows children to study, families to eat and spend time together, provides safety and orientation after dark, and makes it possible to charge a mobile phone and stay connected.
A solar lighting system is therefore much more than a lamp. It brings a little more independence, dignity and hope into a family’s daily life.
At the beginning of November, we will return to Lebanon ourselves and join our partners in distributing the systems to the families.
The ship is on its way. And with it, 1,000 small lights of hope.
Thank you to the Deutsche Postcode Lotterie and to everyone supporting our work and making this journey possible.
